In 2006, the number 3 star is in the centre. This star represents conflict and fighting. Its element is wood, and colour is green. When it is not active it has the effects of lust, disease, and suicide.

Throughout the 8th fortune, the no 8 star will be in the centre. As this star has the most influence during this time we call it the active star. This year with the number 3 star moving into the centre we have 8 and 3 coming together. This combination is known as the “Bullfighting Sha” and will affect the youngest children, who will be at greater risk of accidents, illness, disease or even death. It will also make people much more irrational and there will be more arguments and conflicts. The same will apply to couples, families, companies, governments, and even countries with a greater chance of unrest and war. It is also no good for marriages, so we are likely to see more divorce this year.

Number 3 also represents losing money and possessions. Number 3 has the element wood, and the number 8 star belongs to earth. As wood destroys earth, this means that there will be a greater risk of natural disasters such as landslides, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, and avalanches, plane crashes, train crashes, hurricanes and forest fires. It also causes disease, so there may be serious problems such as bird flu spreading, or the plague which has affected Sudan. Lastly this combination of stars is likely to cause more terrorist attacks.

According to the 3 Round 9 Fortune (the 180 year cycle of energy) in 2004 we moved into the 8th fortune. One Fortune is equal to 20 years, and three fortunes make up one Round of 60 years. After 3 Rounds (180 years in total) we return to the first Round & first Fortune.

In feng shui terms, we are in the 8th fortune, and the no. 8 star will be the active star during this period (until 2024).

As we approach the end of the 3 Round 9 Fortune cycle the energy is building up and becoming more unstable, so we are likely to see more wars and disasters during this period.

If we look at the grid for 2006, we can see that during this year the west, northwest, south and southeast areas are particularly at risk, due to the bad stars in those areas.

Global Outlook for 2006

Middle East

With the conflict star over the middle east area we can expect the problems in the middle east to get worse this year. Iraq will continue to be the source of much unrest in the region and it is unlikely that America will be able to withdraw many of its troops. As we have seen at the start of 2006 the situation in the region has dramatically worsened with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon suffering a serious stroke, and Iran coming under increasing pressure from the international community over it’s nuclear capabilities. Other countries such as Syria may not escape the glare of the US.

USA

With the number 5 star moving into the western part of the world this year, America can expect a tough year, with more disasters and accidents than usual, as well as terorrist attacks. The number 5 star has negative energy and causes a lot of trouble. The effect will be made worse this year by the bad Chinese Astrology stars also affecting the west.

In addition, western areas areas of the country, particularly California, Nevada and Utah will be at even greater risk of plane and train crashes, as well as natural disasters such as earthquakes, landslides, flooding, storms, and forest fires.

The number 3 star, which represents conflict, is in the centre of the USA this year, and is likely to affect states such as Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. Possible effects include protests and riots. In the east, the danger will come from the continued threat of terrorist attacks.

With the Year God and 3 bad stars in the northwest, Seattle and the pacific coast of the USA could be at greater risk of an earthquake.

In the southeast, the number 2 star in combination with the bad astrology stars willl cause more serious hurricanes to hit the Florida region.

UK

We can apply the analysis to the UK in the same way. Starting with the number 5 star in the west of the country, Wales may experience some severe weather and flooding, and all kinds of accidents such as plane or train crashes, explosions and landslides.

In central areas of England, we could see more rioting and unrest in cities such as Birmingham and Leicester, as well a return of the unpredictable weather that caused several hurricanes in 2005.

With the bad stars in the South East, London is likely to experience a tragedy such as a plane or train crash, and possibly another terrorist attack. There will also be demonstrations and riots.

In the south of the UK, areas such as Wiltshire, Dorset and Hampshire are at greater risk of flooding and landslides.

Europe

Italy, Spain, Portugal, France and Germany may face problems from natural disasters. With the number 5 star in the west, countries in western Europe will have a difficult year politically and financially.

China

With the good stars in the east of the earth this year, China's economy will continue to expand and prosper.

In the west, Xinjiang province is affected by the number 5 star. This will cause problems and conflicts, possibly with the muslim population. In the past, China has kept its muslims under tight control, but the bad star this year could make Islamic fundamentalists active again. The number 5 star also causes earthquakes, landslides, extreme weather and disease. There is a greater chance of riots and unrest.

In Xizang province, also to the west, the conflict with the Tibetans will continue and China will face more protests over its human rights policy.

In the centre of the country, Sichaun province is affected by the number 3 star. This area may also face problems from Islamic fundamentalists. There is also a greater chance of natural disasters in this area, such as earthquakes, fires and flooding, as well as explosions, demonstrations and riots.

There will be conflict between China and the countries to the south such as Vietnam, Laos and Burma. Also, with the bad star in the east, there may be some disputes with Japan.

In the southeast, the bad stars mean that the tension with Taiwan may reignite.

South America

Countries on the western side of South America such as Chile, Peru and Ecuador may be affected by earthquakes. Brazil could see more extreme weather, causing flooding.

Accidents and Natural disasters

The no 3 star in the centre will cause a lot of major accidents this year, for example train, plane and ship disasters, and explosions.

All around the world there will be a higher risk than usual of earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and landslides, flooding,storms, hurricanes and forest fires. Countries on the major earthquake fault lines will have to be prepared. However, some of these disasters are likely to be caused by the effects of increasing global warming.

War and Terrorism

According to Flying Star Feng Shui, the main problem globally will continue to be in the middle east area. As we have mentioned, new problems with Iran's nuclear stance and the health of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon mean that we can expect tensions to escalate during 2006 as we enter a period of even greater uncertainty.

Economy

With the bad stars in the west and good stars in the east, the main trend in 2006 will be China continuing to grow faster than any other economy. Japan, South Korea, and India will all be doing well.

Although China will still be growing remarkably fast, it may slow down slightly compared to previous years, and profits may be scarce as industries reache overcapacity and price wars begin. Those most at risk are cars, steel, cement, property and aluminum, plus certain consumer goods. Foreign companies may suddenly find their Chinese partners offering them bigger stakes in return for a cash lifeline.

The big global trend will be stalling housing prices, as the global housing market slows down during 2006. This is because the wood element of the yearly number 3 star destroys the earth element of the active number 8 star. This will have an adverse effect on the property market.

Politics

This year we can expect a lot of conflicts, demonstrations, unemployent and trouble, A lot of people will be against governments. The most serious effect is that wars will continue.
