Inviting the Money God into your home - 18th Feb

On Chinese New Year’s Day (1st of January on the Chinese calendar), you can perform the Chinese custom of inviting the Money God into your home in order to bring prosperity and luck into the household. The directions that you have to walk are as follows:

• The Good News (Happiness) God is in the south east
• The Money God is in the south east
• The Helping God is in the east

The best times to do this are:
11pm (17th Feb) - 1am (18th Feb), 3am - 9am, 11am - 1pm.

Afterwards you should go to the nearest temple to light the first incense of the year, or if you have your own shrine you may do this at home.

Blessing Ceremony - from 20th Feb

This is a traditional ceremony to say thankyou to the Gods and ensure good fortune for the coming year. You should set up an offering of food - buy some cakes, and cook some dishes, light incense, and wish for success.


This can be done on one of the following dates:

11pm (19th Feb) - 5am (20th Feb)
7am - 9am
5pm - 7pm

20th february is unsuitable for Rabbit people.
21st february is unsuitable for Dragon people.
22nd February is unsuitable for Snake people.
23rd February is unsuitable for Horse people.
27th February is unsuitable for Dog people.
1st March is unsuitable for Rat people.
6th March is unsuitable for Snake people.
8th March is unsuitable for Sheep people.
11th March is unsuitable for Dog people.
14th March is unsuitable for Ox people.



Reopening your business - from 1st February

11pm (20th Feb) - 1am (21st Feb)
3am - 7am
5pm - 11pm

Dragon people should do this on the 23rd February.
Snake people cannot use 22nd
Horse people should use the 25th.
Chicken people cannot use the 26th.
Rat people cannot use March 1st.
Snake people cannot use March 6th and 18th
Ox people cannot use March 14th
